Comfortable friendly place to stay
Will definitely be back this summer and fall!
The inn keepers are kind, knowledgeable and helpful. Ask them anything about the island. They know what's up!
The room was smaller than I would have liked. The bedroom was also to close to the bathroom that it sounded like every time a person went to the bathroom it was as if they were coming into your room. The bed was comfy and the decor was pretty homey. The breakfast was nice and the two hostesses were friendly enough. But the bathroom situation is what causes the average rating.
We stayed at the 1720 House last week and were blown away. This inn is so charming and the location can't be beat. We had a car with us but we were able to walk to town and the local town beach in less than 5 minutes. The ferry in Vineyard Haven is also walking distance.
I absolutely adored my time in Vineyard Haven and my experience with the 1720 House! You cannot beat the location. The 1720 house overlooks the harbor and is a short stroll away from the port and the downtown area. The hospitality presented by our host was incredible. Whenever I had questions or inquires about the town, Abby Hirsch was insightful and gave excellent recommendations. The interior of the house is gorgeous and provided a luxurious atmosphere. I certainly recommend a visit to Martha's Vineyard with a stay at the 1720 house.
The staff is nice, might choose this place again if coming back the island.
The continental breakfast was well done with fresh fruits, lovely breads and tasty coffee! Perfect way to start the day on the Vineyard.
